Chiyanjano Mitondo
Director and Founder of Arts and Documentaries Malawi; a Mangochi based youth-led Non-Governmental Organisation. He developed a passion for youth work from the zeal to fight inequalities being experienced by young people. A Bachelor of Arts graduate from University of Malawi, he sees art as a science and tool to accelerate change. He aspires to be social researcher, with an interest in grounded theory, and has spent the past four years developing “Mchenga-mchenga” a tool seeking to provide evident based solutions to young people’s issues in SRH and governance.
ARTS AND DOCUMENTARIES MALAWI PROFILE
Arts and Documentaries Malawi [ADM] is a Mangochi based youth-led Organization aiming to facilitate sustainable solutions to community issues by triggering a spirit of youths’ participation in the District based programs and projects. The Organization targets youths to voice out abuses and challenges, then use the findings from exploration to engage relevant authorities to map out practical solutions. Some of its thematic areas include; SRH and human rights.
CURRENT WORK
ADM is leading a youth-led social accountability platform called Mangochi Art Research Forum [MAREFu) where youths acquire various skills to participate effectively in the District based projects especially on governance and human rights.
Some of its interventions are conducting of Youth public hearings once a month, where youths ask duty bearers questions and MA-REFu radio series.
