Chiyanjano Mitondo

Director and Founder of Arts and Documentaries Malawi; a Mangochi based youth-led Non-Governmental Organisation. He developed a passion for youth work from the zeal to fight inequalities being experienced by young people.   A Bachelor of Arts graduate from University of Malawi, he sees art as a science and tool to accelerate change.  He aspires to be social researcher, with an interest in grounded theory, and has spent the past four years developing “Mchenga-mchenga” a tool seeking to provide evident based solutions to young people’s issues in SRH and governance. 

ARTS AND DOCUMENTARIES MALAWI PROFILE

Arts and Documentaries Malawi [ADM] is a Mangochi based youth-led Organization aiming to facilitate sustainable solutions to community issues by triggering a spirit of youths’ participation in the District based programs and projects. The Organization targets youths to voice out abuses and challenges, then use the findings from exploration to engage relevant authorities to map out practical solutions. Some of its thematic areas include; SRH and human rights.

CURRENT WORK 

ADM is leading a youth-led social accountability platform called Mangochi Art Research Forum [MAREFu) where youths acquire various skills to participate effectively in the District based projects especially on governance and human rights.  

Some of its interventions are conducting of Youth public hearings once a month, where youths ask duty bearers questions and MA-REFu radio series.

Chido Chipudla - Youth Wave Changemaker 2021 copy

Chido Chipudla

Co-founder of World of Words, which was established in 2016 during her 2nd year whilst pursing her undergrad. Her passion is in psychosocial support mainly around youth related issues. She has had the privilege of being mentored by Plan International for over a year through her works in advocacy. She has had the opportunity to be invited by Health Policy Plus to attend a couple of their trainings around Health Advocacy and has used such tools provide to her in her work with W.O.W. She wrote an analyses paper on the Health Budget allocated to Mangochi in 2020 which made her have a seat at the District Implementation Plan (DIP) Review and 2021 DIP strategy plan. Currently Chido is working at Global Health Corps, which has provided a broad network for her to tap into as she continues being involved in health and social equity.

Precious_Masamba - Youth Wave Changemaker 2021

Precious Masamba

A determined Youth advocate, passionate about ensuring that young people are empowered in making sound reproductive health choices to achieve their full potential. He has vast experience in Youth development work and knowledgeable in many fields which include Advocacy, social accountability and community development.

His experience working with young people has been mainly focusing on empowering them to meaningfully take lead in transforming their communities. Precious is currently volunteering with Arts and Documentaries Malawi, Youth led organization based in Mangochi District.

Through Changemakers program, precious is expecting to become a prominent, empowered and articulate advocate, analyst and programmer contributing to the local, national and global spaces to ensure that young people are taking a leading role in changing the face of their communities.
